2022-23:

Ran in five cross country meets with an 8K season best of 29:21 at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational…primarily participated in the middle distances during Track season…ran a season best 2:08 in the 800 meters at the GSAC Finals meet…ran a season best 56.67 in the 400 meters at the Kim Dusyt Invitational…was a member of the 4th place 4X800 meters teams the GSAC Finals. 

Previous Experience:

Beginning his career at Bozeman on the cross country team, David spent most of his freshman year with his 5k time in the mid 20s but ran a stellar 19:15.6 to cap his season at regionals.  He ran four different events during track season that year at the freshman, JV, and varsity levels (400, 800, mile, and 2 mile).  In his sophomore cross country season, David continued to shave seconds off of his 5k time, twice breaking the 19 minute mark, including a then career best 18:48.6 at the Butte Invitational. David would miss track season as a sophomore, but returned to cross country as a junior at Gallatin, picking up another PR at 18:30.6 and qualifying for state for the first time in his career.  He continued to focus on his four middle distances in track, with the 800m definitely proving to be his specialty, placing 17th at regionals out of 31 runners.  His senior season, however, is what caught the attention of Coach Simpson, as David hit PRs in every single one of his distances and in cross country.  In cross country, David threw down an extremely impressive 18:09.0 at the Gallatin Invitational.  On the track, David broke the minute mark in the 400m with an extremely impressive 56.95, ran a 2:07.12 at regionals in the 800m, good for 14th in the field of 30 runners, put up a career best 5:10.37 mile, and came up with an 11:17.96 two mile.  David will likely compete to be one of the Oaks top runners at the 400m and 800m distances.
