Statement On Intercollegiate Athletics

Menlo College Athletics is an integral part of the undergraduate experience. Athletics supports the academic mission of the College by providing structured, challenging, and values driven opportunities for student athletes to grow as students, competitors, and people.

The purpose of Menlo College Athletics is to use sport as part of a balanced college experience that develops the whole person. Athletics is intentionally integrated with academics, leadership development, and service to support personal growth, responsibility, and long term success.

Competition matters at Menlo College. It reflects preparation, discipline, and commitment. Success is measured not only by performance in competition, but by how student athletes grow, how they manage balance and responsibility, and how they represent the College.

Coaches and Athletics staff serve as educators and mentors. Their responsibility extends beyond competition to supporting academic progress, personal development, and preparation for life beyond sport. Menlo College Athletics believes excellence in sport and integrity in life must exist together.

Academic achievement remains the highest priority for all student athletes. Athletics exists to complement the educational mission of the College while supporting well being, accountability, and service beyond the playing field.

Across all programs, Menlo College Athletics operates with shared expectations that guide daily behavior and decision making:
