MISSION STATEMENT

The Menlo College Sports Medicine Department functions to serve the Menlo College intercollegiate student-athletes, and is guided by the athletic department mission statement. The mission of the Sports Medicine department is to provide athletes with holistic treatment to prevent and manage athletic injuries. 

Vision for:

Athletes: Provide evidence based practices system for student-athletes to help prevent, manage and rehabilitate athletic injuries. Establish a close collaboration with the Sports Performance department to educate and develop athletes throughout their time at Menlo College.

Athletic Trainers: Aim to empower the next generation of Athletic Trainers through a comprehensive hands-on program that promotes growth, autonomy, and advancement in the industry.

Education: Strive to educate student-athletes in anatomy and physiology principles to better understand the “why” injuries occurred. Better educate the student-athletes to understand the importance of nutrition, sleep and exercise to prevent injury. 

Goal Driven Treatment: Establish evidence based treatment plans through attainable goals set out by the Student-Athlete, Sports Medicine department and Sports Performance staff to guide treatment and progression after injury.

  • Athletes may begin the online E-documentation after June 1.  You will need your insurance card and immunization record.

  • All first year Menlo College athletes will need a physical completed by a MD or DO, dated after June 1. Please make an appointment with your physician and bring the physical form to your appointment.  

  • Returning athletes will not need a physical but will need to update all information online.

  • All athletes will need to complete this process to be cleared to participate in any varsity sports on campus.
