ATHERTON, CA – Menlo College Athletics welcomes back former Oaks standout Peter Saldaña to the baseball coaching staff for the 2026-27 season, bringing a familiar face back to Atherton with a wealth of playing and coaching experience. Saldaña returns to the program where he helped make history from 2015-18, contributing to three consecutive seasons with 30-plus wins. In 2016, he was part of the team that set the Menlo baseball program record for most wins in a single season while earning a No. 25 national ranking.
 

"Peter knows what it means to be an Oak, and that experience is something you can't teach," said Head Coach Mike Givens. "He has played at a high level around the world, developed as a coach, and now he gets the opportunity to bring all of that experience back to the program that helped shape him. We're excited to have him back in the dugout and believe he will make a tremendous impact on our players and our program."
 

A 2018 graduate with a degree in Finance, Saldaña continued his baseball career overseas following his time at Menlo, competing in Austria, Australia, Czechia and Germany. Across four seasons abroad, he helped capture Prague Baseball Week with a victory over the Spanish National Team and also won a Home Run Derby championship. Saldaña began his coaching career at De Anza College during the 2024-25 season before joining Willamette University for the 2025-26 campaign. Now, the road has brought him back to Menlo, where he joins the Oaks coaching staff ready to help build on the program's tradition and get Menlo back to competing at the highest level.
