ATHERTON, CA – Menlo College Baseball's Tyson Brown made his mark this summer, earning the title of PCCBL Home Run Derby Champion before being named PCCBL All-Star Game MVP following a standout performance for the Coast All-Stars.
Playing for the NorCal Warriors summer league team, Brown launched an impressive 18 total home runs to capture the Home Run Derby crown. He carried that momentum into the following competition, going 3-for-5 with a double, triple, one run scored, and four RBIs, including the walk-off hit that lifted the Coast All-Stars to victory. His performance earned him All-Star Game MVP honors and added another highlight to an already impressive summer.
Reflecting on his summer, Brown emphasized the work that went into earning the opportunity and the importance of challenging himself. "The All-Star Game and Home Run Derby were super fun to be a part of and I worked all summer to be able to go and compete to the best of my ability. I had one coach who used to tell me, put yourself in situations where you are not comfortable, and that is my favorite saying. I am looking forward to bringing this drive back and keeping this momentum going into the fall with my guys."
Brown enters his senior season with the Oaks following a productive 2026 campaign. During the 2026 PacWest season, he started 20 of 31 appearances and hit .260 through 77 at-bats, collecting 20 hits, including a double and home run. He scored 16 runs, drove in four, recorded 24 total bases, and drew nine walks. Brown also swiped 10 bases in 13 attempts, finishing the season with a .312 slugging percentage and .657 OPS.
"We are very excited for Tyson," said Menlo Baseball Head Coach Mike Givens. "He is such a hard worker and this is a great achievement for both him and our baseball program. We are thrilled to see what is in store for him in his senior year for the Oaks!"
With a Home Run Derby championship, All-Star Game MVP honor, and a strong summer of competition under his belt, Brown will look to carry his success back to Atherton as he prepares for his final season in the blue and silver.
