Menlo College Bids Farewell to Head Baseball Coach Alex Hoover

ATHERTON, CA – Menlo College announced today that Head Baseball Coach Alex Hoover will be stepping down from his role, concluding a successful tenure at the helm of the Oaks baseball program. Hoover's leadership over three seasons included 35 victories for Menlo, and 3 of his student-athletes earned All-Conference honors – including Justin Flannery '25, who was a GSAC Gold Glove Team and PacWest Third Team All-Conference during each of the past two seasons. Hoover also championed academic excellence, with 10 academic awards earned under his watch, and two Athletic department awards during his tenure.

Before arriving at Menlo in 2022, Hoover built an impressive coaching résumé that extended over 15 years across high school, collegiate, and summer league baseball. As Coach Hoover steps away from Menlo College, he leaves a legacy of dedication and growth that will resonate within the baseball program for years. Menlo College will soon begin the search for the next head baseball coach, aiming to build on the solid foundation established during Hoover's tenure.

On his departure, Coach Hoover shared, "It's been an incredibly rewarding experience to lead this program. I'm proud of our student-athletes and thankful for the support I've received from the Menlo community."

Vice President for Athletics Keith Spataro added, "We're grateful to Coach Hoover for his steady leadership and commitment to our student-athletes. He leaves Menlo baseball in a better place, and we wish him the very best in his next chapter."
