LONG BEACH, CA – A truly dominant first season for freshman
Kim Penzold culminated in the Menlo Women's Golf Oak earning the distinction of Pacific West Conference Freshman of the Year as well as All-PacWest First Team in the conference's Friday announcement.

Penzold Procures PacWest Prize
A confident leader despite competing as a collegiate golfer for the first time, Penzold spent the 2025-26 season pacing the Oaks in nearly every tournament along the way while posting a 75.3 scoring average. She placed among the top 10 on seven different occasions including two tournament victories, the
RCA Electric Spring Invitational and
The Big Freeze (with her season's best two-round tournament score at 1-over-par 143), which led her to be named PacWest Golfer of the Week twice in three weeks (
Mar. 11,
Mar. 25). The native of Rathenow, Germany native's best three-round tournament score of the year was her 2-over-par 218 at theÂ
PacWest Championship where she ended as the top freshman, second overall, and concluded with the second-highest ranking among golfers in the conference.
