PacWest Weekly Awards (Oct. 15)

LONG BEACH, CA
 – Excelling amid challenging weather conditions at Bayonet & Blackhorse Golf Course, Menlo Men's Golf graduate student Jack Stark placed third out of a 95-golfer field and was subsequently named Pacific West Conference Golfer of the Week.

Leading The Way
Stark went right to work despite rain and wind throughout two rounds of action on Oct. 13. He began by tying for second overall, delivering six birdies to power a 2-under-par 70 opening round which served as his lowest score of the season and fourth-lowest round of his career (behind his 4-under-par 68 at last year's Run-In at the Ranch and his two 3-under-par 69 scores from the 2024 Vanguard Invitational and 2024 GSAC Championship).

After a 3-over-par 75 in round two, the native of High Wycombe, England made it three consecutive rounds with multiple birdies as he collected five more through the final 18 holes on Oct. 14. Stark moved up one spot on that final day of action, shooting a 1-under-par 71.

With three rounds completed, Stark finished with a grand total of 13 birdies, tying for the most in the tournament. He shared third place with Cal State East Bay's Peyton Hendricks and ended just two strokes back of the top two overall with an even-par 216.

"Us coaches are incredibly proud of Jack," said Director of Golf Jess Stimack. "To shoot those scores under those conditions on one of the toughest courses in Northern California was extremely impressive. Jack is a true leader on and off the golf course for us, and we are thrilled to see his hard work starting to pay off."

The award is the first for Stark this season and the second in his career after he earned the honor almost one year ago to the day on Oct. 18, 2024.
