Lewiston, Idaho- It's the best time of the year for basketball fans with the NAIA National Tournament officially getting underway today! After finishing the regular season 21-9 and hosting the GSAC Conference Tournament, Menlo Women's Basketball begins their quest to get to Sioux City and the Final Four.
First Round Matchup
For their first game the #6 Oaks will be tipping off tonight at 7:30 PM against the #11 seeded Rocky Mountain Bears. In the GSAC Menlo was first in points per game, field goal percentage and assists per game. They also held top five marks in the conference for steals per game and three point percentage per game. Menlo will look to their All-Conference duo of Kiara Brown and Vivian Woo to set the tone early.
Rocky Mountain enters the game with a solid rotation that is home to the Frontier Conference Defensive Player of the Year and Co-Sixth Player of the Year. As a team the Bears finished second in their conference for both three point shooting percentage and free-throw shooting percentage. Menlo will look to run shooters off the arc and remain disciplined on defense to keep Rocky Mountain off the free-throw line.
