ATHERTON, CA – As the team's 2026-27 roster continues to deepen, Menlo Women's Basketball has announced the signing of Mia Henson, a proven scorer and versatile guard/forward from Hartnell College.
At the forefront of a 2025-26 Panthers team that went 18-11 and reached the 3C2A Southern California Regional, Henson averaged 16.2 points, 6.7 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 2.1 steals per game en route to being named Coast Conference Most Valuable Player and First Team All-League.
Prior to Hartnell, Henson was a California Pacific Conference Champion with UC Merced after the Bobcats went 10-0 in conference play then bested Westcliff and La Sierra in the postseason tournament in 2025.
The only freshman to make the varsity basketball team at Monterey High School, Henson quickly worked her way into becoming a starter while helping guide the Toreadors to a Pacific Coast League Championship. She went on to add two Team Most Valuable Player honors, First Team All-League, Defensive Player of the Year, and a Monterey Heralds All-County Team selection to her resume.
"I chose Menlo because I enjoyed the campus and the school size," Henson said. "I also like the basketball program and how well they have done."
When Henson, an Academic Award of Excellence honoree previously, begins with Menlo this fall, it will be as a Psychology major.
