TURLOCK, CA
Menlo baseball traveled east for a standalone game against CSU Stanislaus this evening, ultimately losing the game by a final score of 3-0. Their record now stands at 4-7.
Confident Corsi
Menlo's best individual performance in the game came from right-handed pitcher Robley Corsi III. The junior from Edmonds, Washington tossed 3.0 total innings, facing 10 batters and throwing 43 pitches. In that time, Corsi struck out 2 while allowing just 1 hit and 1 walk.Â
Corsi has been called upon 3 times by head coach Alex Hoover so far this season, and has been a reliable option out of the bullpen. He has thrown 6.0 total innings, and looks set for a regular role in this season's blueprint.
Dynamite from Down Under
Right-handed reliever Richard Kiel also put in an excellent shift out of the Menlo bullpen. The Australian pitched the final 1.2 innings of the game, allowing no hits or runs while walking just 1 batter and striking out 2.Â
In 14.0 innings pitched this season, Kiel has 10 strikeouts to his name, and looks even more efficient than he did in the 2022 season.Â
