Reggie Christiansen

Reggie Christiansen has been a major figure in the college baseball landscape for much of his adult life and it all got started at Menlo College.

"I wouldn't be where I am today if it weren't for Menlo College," said Christiansen. "Personally, the relationships I built while at Menlo have changed my life."

He recently completed his seventh season as head coach at Sacramento State University where he has helped the program to the seventh most wins of any Division I baseball program over the last five seasons. The Christiansen-coaches Hornets won the WAC championship in 2017, marking the second time in the last four seasons they have achieved this feat. Since taking over the program in 2011, Christiansen has seen 13 players selected in the MLB draft and has led the team to six consecutive 30+ win seasons. He graduated from Menlo College in 1998 and worked as an assistant coach for the Oaks for two seasons before eventually becoming its head coach for the 2002 season. As a student-athlete, Christiansen was a standout on the field and held the career home runs record at Menlo until it was broken in 2013. He ranked in the top 10 in career doubles (29) and home runs (16) up until the conclusion of the 2017 season.

"I was shocked and humbled when I got the phone call. My kids thought it was pretty cool. It brought back some great memories. I'm looking forward to being back on campus and having my kids see where I played and went to school."
