Ken Bowman (Baseball Coach)
A Menlo mainstay, Coach Bowman spent 20 years at Menlo College as a coach and administrator. A 1975 graduate of the University of San Francisco, Coach Bo began his coaching career in the late 70s, and made his way to Atherton in 2000. After spending two seasons as an assistant coach, he was promoted to Head Coach, a role in which he thrived from 2003 to 2008. In that time, Bowman racked up a record 111 wins – the first coach in the history of Menlo College Baseball to reach triple digits. His record has been surpassed, but only once; he now ranks as the coach with the second-most wins in program history. The Bowman family roots run deep at Menlo: Ken's sons, Scott and Jeff, both played for their dad, and their names appeared frequently in the Menlo record books. In 2008, Coach Bo stepped down from coaching to shift his focus to the Menlo College Office of Admissions, where he spent time as an Admissions Counselor before being promoted to Director of Admissions. Over two decades, Ken Bowman contributed an immense amount of service to Menlo College.
"My reaction to being inducted to Menlo College's Hall of Fame is very humbling. I am honored and overwhelmed with joy." Coach Bo stated. He went on to say, "I found my second home when I was hired by Menlo. I enjoyed going to work daily and being part of the Menlo community. Menlo has meant a great deal, not only to me but to my family as well."
"A pillar of Menlo College for 20 years, it brings me great joy to induct Coach Bo into the Menlo College Hall of Fame" noted Menlo College Vice President for Athletics Keith Spataro. "Ken Bowman has meant so much to not only the Menlo College Baseball Program, but to the whole Menlo College Athletics Department, and to the entire campus community!"
