    Assistant Director of Athletics

Kathy Imwalle

A staple in the Menlo College Athletics Department for over 12 year, Kathy Imwalle made a long-lasting impression on a great deal of people who came through the Atherton campus. Imwalle served in a number of capacities at Menlo College and is the wife of Hall of Fame Women's Volleyball Coach, Bill Imwalle. Kathy was hired at Menlo in 2002 and served in a trio of roles during her tenure. She began as the Events and Operations manager under then Athletics Director Keith Larsen and later fellow 2017 inductee Caitlin Collier. After six years, she transitioned into a role as Administrative Manger of Athletics under current Director of Athletics, Keith Spataro. A diligent worker, she was eventually promoted to Assistant Athletics Director and Business Manager in 2011, the role she retired from in 2014. Kathy was highly involved in all areas of campus and was often a supporting figure in the lives of student-athletes and staff members alike. In addition to her core duties, Kathy also actively served on homecoming, commencement, student success and calendar committees and was a member of the President's Council.

"When I first came to Menlo in 2002 on a "trial" basis Bill and I had just returned to the Bay Area from Hawaii.  We didn't know many people other than family and we immediately felt a connection to the other coaches. I loved being part of the immense growth of athletics over the next 12 years," said Imwalle. "I was pretty shocked when Keith [Spataro] called with the Hall of Fame news.  I'm honored and flattered that my contributions to Menlo athletics were deemed worthy of inclusion."
