Biography

2022-23:

Raced twice during Cross Country season with a season best 28:45 at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational…was the Oaks lead 800 meters runner during Track season…ran a personal and season best 2:00.28 at the GSAC Finals almost breaking the two minute mark…also participated in the 200 and 1500 meters during the season…was a member of the 4th place 4X800 meters team at the GSAC Finals.

Previous Experience:

Toncu began his cross country and track journey at Kadena High School in Okinawa, Japan.  There, he ran in six races, showing improvements in just about every race, including a 5K PR of 18:54.0 to cap his junior season.  On the track, he ran the 800m and mile, while also competing in the 4x400m and 4x800m relays.  Running in the DODEA Far East Championship, Toncu took home first in the 800m race with a PR time of 2:05.28 and placed second in the mile, while also running in the first place winning 4x800m team. As a senior, Toncu moved to Belle Chasse, Louisiana, and ran at Belle Chasse High School.  He continued to improve in cross country in Louisiana, placing fourth at the 4A State Championships.  On the track, Toncu was part of Belle Chasse's state championship winning 4x800m team, and set his own personal best in the mile at 4:46.89.
