2022-23:

One of the most versatile runners for the Oaks…participated in five 8K cross country races with a season best 27:16 at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational…raced in five different events during Track season…ran season best for both the 1500 (4:17) and 5000 (16:25) meters at the GSAC Finals meet…also was a member of the 4X800 team that finished 4th at the GSAC Finals.

Previous Experience:

Kirkman ran all four years at Buchanan High School, and immediately announced his presence in his freshman season, breaking the five minute mark in the mile, and finishing top-10 amongst freshmen in Fresno County in the mile as well as top-10 amongst freshmen in the Tri River Athletic Conference in cross country.  As a sophomore, Kirkman ran at state for the first time in cross country, breaking the 17 minute 5K mark for the first time in his career that year.  On the track, he showed great improvement, shaving nearly 10 seconds off of his PR times in the 800m and the mile, while shaving over 20 seconds off of his PR in the two mile.  It was a quiet junior cross country season for Kirkman, but he did place top-10 in two of the three races he ran in.  On the track, however, Kirkman had huge PRs in the 800m and the mile, with times of 2:07.46 and 4:32.61 respectively.  Most recently, Kirkman tore things up in the realms of cross country and longer distance, setting PRs in the cross country two mile (9:48.1), cross country three mile (15:26.8), cross country 5K (16:30.4), and track two mile (10:13.7).  These PR times should make Robert a top option for the Oaks next season in cross country and in the mile and two miles races.
