Uyar and Nowak Leads Menlo to a Four-Set Victory over Hope International

Atherton, CA – The Menlo Men's Volleyball team secured a commanding four-set victory over Hope International University in front of their home crowd inside of Haynes-Prim Pavilion. The win evens out the Oaks record at 5-5 on the season as they continue their competitive season.
 

Breaking Down the Sets
The Oaks were able to start the day off strong in the opening set, showcasing an efficient .522 hitting percentage to earn a 25-20 victory. Hope was able to responded in the second set, capitalizing on the Oaks' offensive errors to claim the set 21-25 to even out the math. Menlo was able to catch their rhythm again in the third by tightening up their offensive, while showing their lethal serving game to take a solid 25-19 set win. Coach Todd Hollenbeck was able to make some adjustments to the lineup in the fourth set to close out the match. With key plays at the net and clutch serving, Menlo was able to cruise to a 25-21 final fourth set to end the day.
 

Standout Performances
Menlo's offense was led by Mustafa Selçuk Uyar, who delivered a match-high 19 kills while hitting .405. The senior also contributed six digs and three block assists to conclude a well-rounded performance. Wojciech Nowak was another key factor with 16 kills and two service aces, assisting in the Oaks' push for the win. Setter William Lawler was able to maneuver the attack with an outstanding 42 assists while clocking in 3 service aces. The Oaks all-around had fantastic performances and showed their depth within the lineup.
