ATHERTON, CA - The Menlo Men's Volleyball team hosted their first ever NCAA Division I matchup against the Tritons of UC San Diego. Despite a tough effort in the match that last three sets, the Oaks fell to the Tritons in three sets.

The Oaks started the match off strong and took an early lead. However, UC San Diego's offense proved to be too much to overcome. The Oaks were able to put up a good fight but dropped the set 18-25. The second set of the night was the most competitive of the night, pushing UCSD to the brink. The Oaks were able to capitalize on critical plays and opportunities to take the lead and possibly take the set, but UCSD was able to edge the Oaks out 26-28. The third set saw UCSD take control from the jump, maintaining their lead throughout the set and secured the match 16-25.
Oaks Top Performances
Mustafa Selçuk Uyar was able to lead the Oak's offense with 12 kills on the night while adding four digs to the stat sheet. Wojciech Nowak added more to the offense with 9 kills and two blocks, playing a crucial role at the net for Menlo. William Lawler was the key player to distribute the ball to the offense. Lawler distributed 28 assists while also providing 2 service aces on the night.
