Julia Tena Named to the All-GSAC Team to Culminate Stellar Freshman Season

By: Ryan Barnett

ALISO VIEJO, CALIF. -- Following the culmination of the GSAC Season, the All-GSAC Women's Volleyball team was announced, and making her debut on this prestigious list was Menlo College freshman libero Julia Tena.  Tena was one of just two freshmen to be named to the All-GSAC team this year, and is the second ever Menlo freshman to make this list.  Tena is also the first Oak to be named to the All-GSAC team since Pamela Dungo and Moea Kekauoha were honored in 2019.

Tena established herself as one of the top libero's in the GSAC this season, by ranking in the top-5 in both digs and digs per set in the conference.  Her 456 digs this season rank her in the top-10 in program history in digs for a single season, while her 34 service aces led the Oaks this season.  Julia also ranked third on the squad with 86 total assists.

Julia's strong season helped lead the Oaks to a five win increase from last season to this season.  The Oaks finished just one spot outside of making it to postseason play, but with a young squad headlined by Tena, the Oaks should be a shoe-in for the conference tournament next season.
