A native of Weyauwega, Wis. Young was a two-time All-Conference performer at Weyauwega High School where she started all four years and helped her team to a pair of conference championships. A dual-sport athlete who also excelled on the track, Young was equally impressive in the classroom where she earned a pair of all-conference academic awards and was on the academic honor roll for seven semesters. Additionally, she earned numerous awards including: most improved hitter, freshman athlete of the year, best blocker and best hitter.
