2026 ABCA Team Academic Excellence Awards

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Menlo College Baseball made program history by earning the Oaks' first American Baseball Coaches Association Team Academic Excellence Award for their combined efforts in the classroom and on the field as announced on Wednesday.

"On behalf of our coaching staff, we are very proud of our baseball players," said Head Coach Mike Givens. "Earning this academic award proves their championship mindset both on the field and in the classroom."

By The Numbers
The ABCA's announcement of its Team Academic Excellence Awards recognized NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, and two-year college baseball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined grade point averages inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. All teams that qualified with the minimum 3.0 GPA were recognized for their academic accomplishments. There were a total of 91 NCAA DII teams honored by the ABCA including six from the Pacific West Conference.

All-Around Achievement
In the team's first season under Head Coach Mike Givens, Menlo Baseball secured 17 wins while collectively producing a 3.28 GPA. Menlo demonstrated steadfast determination in 2026 by winning three series, taking at least one game from all but three opponents, logging 15 PacWest victories, and finishing with two All-PacWest Team honorees along the way. At 44 in total, the Oaks finished with the most Academic All-PacWest selections among all PacWest baseball teams.
