2025-26 WBCA Academic Team Awards

ATLANTA -- Menlo College Women's Basketball once again demonstrated the program's balanced approach beyond the basketball court as the Oaks were recognized with Academic Team Special Mention by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association in a Tuesday announcement.

Making The Cut
The WBCA's announcement of its Academic Top 25 recognized NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, and two-year college women's basketball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined grade point averages inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. All teams that qualified for academic selection with the minimum 3.0 GPA were also recognized for their academic accomplishments. There were a total of 83 NCAA DII teams honored by the WBCA.

Books, Basketball In The Balance
Winners of four in a row early in the season and five of their last six to close 2025-26, Menlo Women's Basketball simultaneously produced a 3.61 GPA as a team with 16 different members contributing to the mark. The Oaks maintained their high standard with another set of double-digit Pacific West Conference victories, narrowly missing the PacWest Tournament, while recording multiple program milestones including Head Coach Shannon Spataro's 300th career victory and, among 13 Academic All-PacWest honorees, the first PacWest Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
