Narahara Takes 7th at U23 Women's National Championships & World Team Trials

SPOKANE, Wash. – Battling for a place on the World Team, senior Haley Narahara turned in a strong performance at the U23 Women's National Championships & World Team Trials, earning a seventh-place finish in a loaded 55kg bracket over the weekend.

Narahara opened the tournament in dominant fashion, securing a 10-0 technical fall in the first period of her opening match. She would then drop her next bout, sending her into the consolation bracket.

On the backside, Narahara put together an impressive run. She began with a first-period fall, followed by back-to-back technical fall victories, including a commanding 14-3 result, to secure a top-eight finish in the national field.

After falling one round short of the higher placement matches, Narahara closed out the tournament with a forfeit victory in the seventh-place match to cap an outstanding weekend on the national stage.
