Though Biola used an 8-2 run to turn a 12-12 tie into a six-point lead, Menlo responded by catching fire from long range. In the span of less than three minutes, the Oaks connected on four made 3-pointers with Wieskamp starting the barrage, Arikat adding two in a row (sandwiching his block on the other end), and sophomore guard
Quentin Thompson effectively putting his team in front 26-20. Though Wieskamp added one more triple to finish the half 3-for-3 from distance, the Eagles used a 12-2 push to take a 32-30 advantage into the break.
Within one point of Biola multiple times in the first five minutes of the second period, Menlo could not regain a lead. The Oaks kept the difference in the single digits for the majority of game's remainder yet even one more 3-pointer each for Arikat and Wieskamp in the last five minutes could not prevent the 71-60 end result for BU.
