ATHERTON, CA – Facing a very familiar Biola team for the second time in one week, Menlo Men's Basketball held a lead with four minutes left in regulation, but could not come away with the Pacific West Conference win in a tightly-contested rematch that saw the Eagles end 80-76 victors on Saturday inside Haynes-Prim Pavilion.

Kai Brown enabled Menlo to go up 15-8 in a free-flowing first seven minutes before a 7-0 response by Biola returned the game to a tie score. Junior forward

Marvin Brumfield all had hands in the six unanswered points the followed then Brumfield connected from long range yet the Eagles' six points in the last minute and a half were enough to put them in front 38-37 going to the break.
BU led by as many as seven in the early stages of the second half, but five quick points from Brumfield initiated a 9-0 surge capped off by Unuakhalu's thunderous dunk. Sophomore guard
Jonathan Moxie soon hit a 3-pointer after a flagrant foul, giving Menlo five points on one possession and that momentum carried until the seventh minute when the Eagles regained the advantage.
Brumfield again helped the Oaks move in front and a triple by freshman forward
Luke Wieskamp kept the pressure on, however, a key 6-0 shift in Biola's favor led to the first of two ties in the last two and a half minutes of play. From a 74-74 score on a Brown layup with one minute left, four Eagles free throws ended up being the difference in the 80-76 final.
