SAN DIEGO, CA – A big performance by senior forward
JaMaal Unuakhalu versus the Pacific West Conference standings leader in Point Loma had Menlo Men's Basketball attempting multiple second-half comebacks, but the Sea Lions had the last word on Thursday inside their own Golden Gymnasium, winning 91-68.

After starting the game in front 16-5, Point Loma was hit by five quick points including a 3-pointer by junior forward

Luke Wieskamp's triple and another from Unuakhalu each helped Menlo remain within striking distance, but the Sea Lions used a 10-0 run to enter halftime up 55-36.
Unuakhalu built on his 15 first half points with five more in the first two minutes of the second period before an 8-0 PLNU run was countered by sophomore guard
Quentin Thompson's own personal 7-0 response. The scoring bursts continued to oscillate as the Sea Lions' 9-1 shift was met by 11 unanswered from the Oaks, capped by Arikat's second triple of the evening. Time ran out on a further Menlo comeback with the final buzzer sounding at 91-68 in favor of the home team.
