Double-Digit Triples Power Warriors Past Oaks

ATHERTON, CA – With multiple 3-pointers made in each quarter of Monday's Pacific West Conference rematch versus Menlo Women's Basketball, Westmont was able to gain lead in the opening quarter and never look back, putting in 12 triples in total toward their eventual 89-55 win inside Haynes-Prim Pavilion.

Oaks Highlights
-Leading Menlo with six rebounds, Kimberly Ceron-Romero finished with 10 points
-Along with a game-high 17 points, Alberte Frisch collected four rebounds and four assists
-Frida Schmidt made it seven 3-pointers in her last two contests with three more toward nine points
-Zoe Carrillo contributed across the board with six points, three rebounds, three assists, and three steals

Menlo Outscores Westmont In Third, Other Three Belong To Warriors
Though senior guard Jayonnah Carter scored a layup off the opening tip from sophomore forward Zoe Carrillo, an ensuing 8-2 Westmont run ended up marking a major shift in the contest. Graduate student forward Frida Schmidt hit a 3-pointer to cut the margin to two midway through the opening quarter, but the difference was 22-14 by the end of the first 10 minutes. That advantage more than doubled in the second frame as four additional triples elevated the Warriors to a 21-point lead at the half despite efforts by Schmidt, sophomore forward Taylor Westbrook, senior guard Alberte Frisch, and redshirt freshman guard/forward Kimberly Ceron-Romero down the stretch.

Menlo's best quarter of the afternoon was the third which began with Carrillo and Ceron-Romero providing four quick points. The latter was later the one to initiate a 7-0 run with a layup yet a 7-2 rebuttal from Westmont in the last two minutes had them up 66-46 moving to the fourth where an 11-0 surge proved to be the visitors' final shift for the 89-55 victory.
