ATHERTON, CA – Inside their own Haynes-Prim Pavilion to begin 2026, Menlo Men's Basketball rallied back against Point Loma's 13-0 first half run, cutting the deficit to 10 early in the second half yet Saturday's Pacific West Conference faceoff shifted back to the Sea Lions 74-51 in the end.

The Oaks had the upper hand during the first three minutes of action before PLNU used a 12-2 surge to gain a nine-point lead. Junior guard
Marvin Brumfield threw down a transition dunk to keep the margin in single digits and soon junior guard
Devon Woods turned his own steal into points on the other end. Continuing the trend, sophomore guard
Quentin Thompson scored on a fastbreak to make it a 19-16 ballgame, but a 13-2 finish to the half put the Sea Lions further in front 32-18.

Luke Wieskamp each knocked down free throws in the first two minutes of the second period to bring Menlo on the doorstep of a 10-point contest only to meet a 9-0 PLNU run that carried the visitors toward the eventual win. Junior guard
Max Sheridan had an eventful final minute and 30 seconds, scoring nine points while swiping two steals ahead of the 74-51 final score.
