Oaks Sweep the Bobcats Inside of Haynes-Prim Pavilion

ATHERTON, CA – The Menlo Men's Volleyball program returned to Haynes-Prim in style, dishing out a dominant victory over UC Merced in straight sets. The Oaks controlled the match from start to finish while also displaying their depth in the lineup.
 

Match Recap
The Oaks started the match strong, notching 13 kills while also earning 2 aces. Defensively, the Oaks held UC Merced to a .100 hitting percentage. The Oaks were able to take the set 15-19. The second set was the most dominant of the night, winning 25-12. Menlo obtained a .600 hitting percentage, 13 kills and 4 aces. The Oaks closed out the night again in dominant fashion, serving 6 aces, 9 kills, and holding UC Merced to a negative hitting percentage to close out the night 24-14.
 

Star Oak Performers
Wojiech Nowak led the Oaks offense with 12 kills on a .421 hitting percentage with an incredible five service aces. Ty Carson also delivered an impressive performance with 6 kills, 6 digs, and 3 service aces while contributing 9.5 total points. William Lawler was the team's setter of the night and orchestrated 26 assists and chipped in with 8 digs defensively.

The Oaks will head into the last quarter of the season with consistent conference play all the way to the end of the season. They will head to Malibu, CA to take on Pepperdine University for the first time on March 21st at 6PM.
