Oaks Men’s Basketball Honors Seniors Before Hard-Fought Battle Against CUI

ATHERTON, CA – Menlo Men's Basketball celebrated their four graduating seniors, Julius Alcantara, Patrick Ryan, Kareem Rowe, and Landon Seaman, before taking the court for their final home game of the season. Despite a valiant effort, the Oaks fell to Concordia University Irvine 75-91 inside Haynes-Prim Pavilion. Menlo fought throughout the contest, but the Golden Eagles' offensive firepower proved to be the difference.

Menlo's Statistical Leaders

  • Landon Seaman: Led the Oaks with 19 points on 7-for-11 shooting while adding 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and a block.

  • Nick Davidson: Stuffed the stat sheet with 15 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists, playing a team-high 40 minutes.

  • Salim Arikat: Provided a spark off the bench with 14 points, shooting a perfect 4-for-4 from three-point range.

  • Austin Ito: Knocked down three three-pointers, finishing with 9 points and 3 rebounds.

Oaks Leave it All on the Court

Menlo came out with energy, keeping pace with Concordia in a competitive first half. The Oaks trailed 43-37 at the break, fueled by sharp three-point shooting (6-for-12) and aggressive rebounding. Seaman and Davidson led the charge, attacking the paint and getting to the free-throw line.

However, the Golden Eagles found their rhythm in the second half, outscoring Menlo 48-38 in the final 20 minutes. Despite shooting 50% from three-point range (11-for-21) and converting 71% of their free throws (10-for-14), Menlo struggled with ball security, committing 18 turnovers that led to 31 points for Concordia. The Golden Eagles capitalized on fast-break opportunities and second-chance points, finishing with a 40-32 advantage in paint scoring. While the game didn't end in a win, the night was a celebration of Menlo's seniors, who have made a lasting impact on the program.
