ATHERTON, CA – On Saturday afternoon, Menlo Women's Basketball defended their home court of Haynes-Prim with a commanding 64-42 win over Academy of Art. The Oaks delivered a strong team performance that excited the crowd.

Controlling the Court
Menlo came out strong from the opening tip, establishing a defensive intensity that set the tone for the game. The Oaks built an early lead in the first quarter, holding the Urban Knights to 13 points, and extended their advantage by halftime, heading into the locker room with a 34–22 lead. The second half showcased Menlo's ability to maintain their dominance, as they stifled Academy of Art's offense and kept them to single-digit scoring in the fourth quarter.
The Oaks capitalized on turnovers, scoring 22 points off Academy of Art's 24 giveaways. Their aggressive defense, which tallied 12 steals, disrupted the Urban Knights' rhythm throughout the game. Menlo also excelled in the paint, outscoring their opponent 30–26 while using their rebounding edge to limit second-chance opportunities.
Offensively, Menlo displayed balance and efficiency, shooting 43% from the field and 38% from three-point range. Bench contributions were a major factor, as the reserves scored 28 points compared to just 12 from Academy of Art's second unit. The win demonstrated Menlo's depth, teamwork, and ability to execute on both ends of the floor, leaving the home crowd energized and eager for the next game.
