Carson and Uyar Drives Menlo to A Straight Set Victory Against Jessup

ATHERTON, CA – After coming off a straight set win last match, the Oaks were able to continue their run against Jessup by earning yet another straight set victory in back-to-back games. It would be Menlo's 6th set won in a row, with this match's sets being won 25-13, 28-26, and 25-21.
 

Sweeping Performance
Menlo was able to begin the match with already looking in form. The Oaks' efficient attack, marked by a .357 hitting percentage, set the tempo of the match early. Despite only collecting 6 kills, the Oaks were able to force Jessup to struggle offensively by forcing 10 attack errors., for Menlo to win the first set 25-13. The second set was the match to watch for the night as the Oaks would end up edging out Jessup 28-26. The Oaks points came from an incredible offensive performance, recording 17 kills with an incredible .467 hitting percentage. The team's poise in vital moments allowed them to outlast Jessup in the later points of the dual. After going up two sets to none, Menlo sealed the victory with a 25-21 final third set. Already hitting impressively in the first two sets, the Oaks continued their outstanding offensive performance by hitting a .407 in the third.
 

Star Performances of the Night
Mustafa Selçuk Uyar continues to be the Oaks main hitter for the season, and for good reason. Uyar was able to collect 16 kills on the night while having a .452 hitting percentage. Ty Carson followed his teammate in leading the Oaks in points with most of his points coming from his serving. Carson collected an insane 7 service aces and 6 kills to push the Oaks to victory. William Lawler was the main setter as he dished out 31 assists to his team. These star performers helped push the Oaks to yet another straight set victory.
