Santa Clarita, CA-The GSAC is the premier men's volleyball conference in the NAIA with four programs ranked within the NAIA's top six teams. Today was a battle featuring the sixth ranked Oaks versus the top ranked Mustangs of the Masters! Unfortunately, Menlo would fall by a final score of 1-3 with the top ranked Mustangs outlasting the Oaks down in Santa Clarita.
International Trio Lead the Way
For much of this season the three man rotation of Julius Stiemer, Konrad Stoklosinski and Wojciech Nowak have paced Menlo's offensive output. Today was no exception with the three leading Menlo in kills. Stiemer would lead all players with 16 kills with a strong .387 hitting percentage. He also added in two service aces and nine digs to submit a well rounded performance. Nowak would be second on the Oaks with 10 kills, adding in two assists and an ace as well. The freshman did not have his most efficient outing but his ability to play big minutes against the primer program in the NAIA speaks highly of his future as an Oak. Lastly, Stoklosinski had nine kills to finish third on the team.
Up Next…
This was a difficult matchup for a young Menlo team that had three underclassmen playing significant minutes against such a high level opponent. While this does mark the teams second loss in a row, both losses came against highly ranked teams. Meno will hope to maintain their top six ranking while looking forward to taking on Vanguard on the road in the coming week!
