Glendale, AZ-Coming off a nail biting win against OUAZ just two days earlier, Menlo Men's Basketball headed to Glendale, Arizona to take on the 16th ranked ACU Firestorm. Against a tough opponent, on the road the Oaks were never truly able to settle into a rhythm and would fall 72-98 against their highly touted opponents.
Top Performers On the Day
For the game the pair of Braydon Iuli and Landon Seaman would lead the Oaks in scoring with 17 points and 13 points respectively. Iuli would shoot 66% from the field with an additional four boards to round out the day. Seaman would battle foul trouble but still found himself only one rebound shy of his fifth consecutive double-double. He also chipped in 13 points for his 21st double digit scoring effort of the year. You know a player is putting together an outstanding season when 13 points and nine rebounds is considered a down outing for the big man.
Alongside the duo of Iuli and Seaman, forward Patrick Ryan also submitted a solid performance for Menlo. Ryan was the Oaks third leading scorer with 11 points but was active as a rebounder with six boards and knocked down all three of his free throws.
Up Next…
It was not the best day at the office for the Oaks. Still, the GSAC remains knotted up with every team posting multiple conference losses. The final two home games of the season are on deck with both Hope International and Vanguard coming to Haynes-Prim Pavilion next week. While Menlo lost to both themes on the road they were competitive games that saw the Oaks even hold leads at various points. A return to their home court could be the ideal opportunity for the Oaks to get back in the win column!
