Women's Volleyball falls to the Warriors of Jessup University in Three Sets

Rocklin, CA – In an electrifying match held inside of the Warrior Arena, Menlo Women's Volleyball put up an impressive fight against Jessup University. The three sets were intensely competitive, with the Oaks giving it their all in every rally, ultimately falling just short to Jessup in a tightly contested 0-3 loss.
 

Summary of the Match
In set once, Menlo started off the match strong, keeping the Warriors on their toes with precise attacks. The Oaks displayed powerful offensive tactics to stay competitive throughout. The score remained close, with six ties and four lead changes, showcasing the Oak's resilience. However, Jessup would end up edging past Menlo, taking the set 23-25. Set two saw another intense showdown, with Menlo refusing to back down, the Oaks defensively would collect four blocks as a team in the set and tally 11 kills offensively. Despite their efforts, Jessup capitalized on strategic plays and narrowly secured the set at 21-25. Menlo continued to press hard. The Oaks executed critical kills, supported by smart setting placements. Menlo's defense and blocking were key factors, with 12 blocks across the match, helping them stay close to Jessup. As the final set drew to a close, Menlo showed heart, but Jessup ultimately clinched it at 25-22, sealing the game.
 

Key Players
Ayanna Barham was a force on both offense and defense, leading the Oaks with 10 kills, 10 digs, and adding three blocks. Barham also contributed two service aces, reflecting her well-rounded skill set and relentless energy throughout the game. Paige Harmann was the team's main setter of the night. Harmann played a pivotal role in the Oak's offensive flow. She collected an impressive 21 assists, helping her team search for open spots on the court. Senor Giulia Marinelli also brought firepower to the attack achieving 10 kills and 3 blocks, her precision at the net added vital points for the Oaks to keep the team competitive. Keely Grant was a blocking powerhouse, contributing to five of Menlo's total blocks, making it difficult for Jessup to find gaps in Menlo's defense. She also added six kills to her stats, adding a layer of defense and offensive support. Each of these players made significant contributions that underscored Menlo's competitiveness and commitment on the court.
