By: Ally Salzwedel

SANTA CLARITA, CA – Men's Volleyball falls in 5 to #4 The Master's Mustangs. The GSAC has proven to be the most competitive conference in the nation holding the top 4 teams in the nation with more teams receiving votes. It was a fight to the end with Menlo winning the first two sets (25-23, 25-22). However The Master's came back fighting and ultimately took the last 3 sets (25-20, 25-22, 15-13). This puts Menlo at 3-2 in conference so far and 11-2 on the 2023 season.

Pins Lead the Way

Outside hitter, Konrad Stoklosinski, showed another promising performance today against the Mustangs earning 17 kills hitting at .229%. He also added 4 aces, 5 digs, and 2 assists. Not too far behind him was outside hitter Julius Stiemer who landed 19 kills for .400%. Stiemer also produced 8 digs and a block assist for the Oaks today. Lastly, Senior outside hitter Edin Ibrahimovic contributed 17 kills for the Oaks hitting at .239%, 6 digs, 2 block assists and a block solo. These three have proven to be the Oaks leaders on the attack as they seem to receive almost 75% of the sets throughout their matches.

Larson Performs Well Again

As no shock to anyone, the 3x GSAC and 2x NAIA Setter of the Week, Lucas Larson, continues to dominate for the Oaks on all parts of the game. He dished another career high 55 assists against the Master's and also added 13 digs and 2 block assists. Larson leads the GSAC in assists per set at 11.11 and is second in the GSAC, leads the Oaks, in digs at 75. Larson is on track to become Setter of the Week once more after his performance this week and if he continues his efforts, he is on his way to become All-American status!
