#2 MEN'S VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO #1 VANGUARD, 3-0

ATHERTON, CA – #2 Men's Volleyball falls to #1 Vanguard, 3-0. All of California has been dealing with historical weather conditions this weekend and this morning was no different. A power outage at Haynes-Prim Pavilion resulted in a relocation of the game to neighboring high school, Menlo School. The auditorium was packed with Vanguard and Menlo fans which created a competitive atmosphere. Vanguard and Menlo were back and forth the entire match but fell in 3 (19-25, 20-25, 23-25). 

Stand Outs

Gabriel Knittel once again showed up for the Oaks and was able to land 5 kills hitting at .667%. Knittel leads Menlo in hitting percentage at .480%. The Oaks star setter Lucas Larson dished 21 of the 25 assists on the day. In 31 sets Lucas has earned 345 assists to be first in conference. Konrad Stoklosinski led the Oaks in kills with 9. Konrad is now averaging 4.39 kills per set which is the Oaks highest percentage so far this season. Connell Kane helped out on the defensive side with 4 block assists. Kane now has 9 block assists which is Menlo's third best on the team.  

Conference Standings

The 3-time GSAC Setter of the Week, Lucas Larson, takes the top spot in the conference for digs with 62 and remains on top for assists per set with 11.13. Konrad Stoklosinski now leads the GSAC in kills with 136 and is third in hitting percentage at .410. Makana Melchor is also in the top 5 for digs with 45. Menlo is all over the conference statistics leaderboard!

The Oaks take the court once again tomorrow, Saturday February 25th at 1pm against Hope International. We are expected to be back in the Haynes-Prim Pavilion by then.
