SURPRISE, AZ – #6 Men's Volleyball upset #2 OUAZ in the Oaks first conference showdown of the season, 3-1. It was a hard fought battle on both sides of the court but the Oaks came out on top thanks to their incredible attacking line. Menlo still remains undefeated after tonight making it 9-0 on the season.   

Oaks on Attack

It was a gritty performance from the front line on the Oaks. Konrad Stoklosinski, outside hitter from Poland, led the Oaks in kills with 25, hitting at .500%! Julius Stiemer had another amazing attack landing 16 kills and hitting .375%. And, you will see his name all season long, Lucas Larson dished out a new season high 55 assists and also added 3 kills. Larson still leads the conference averaging 10.9 assists per set. As a team the Oaks hit .387% landing 69 kills on the night. 

Menlo Wins the Marathon

It was a true battle from start to finish. The set score line went Menlo set 1: 25-20, OUAZ set 2: 32-30, Menlo set 3: 26-24, Menlo set 4: 25-23. Each set went into extra points requiring the Oaks to pull out all they had to finish this one in 4. Clearly it was rally after rally with 137 total attacks from Menlo and 135 from OUAZ. At the end of the night Menlo proved better hitting percentage after being able to land 69 kills compared to OUAZ's 63. The Oaks are once again victorious and this one will most certainly reflect in a new ranking released next week!
