SOFTBALL GOES 1-1 ON FRIDAY IN LINCOLN, CA

LINCOLN, CA – Softball splits on the first day in Lincoln, CA hosted at Jessup University where they first dominated against Corban University, 6-2 then dropped Game 2 to #13 College of Idaho, 10-2. Grace Christian was a playmaker in both games today! 

Game 1: Menlo 6 - 2 Corban 

Christian Leads the Way

Graced Christian started at 1st base for the Oaks and led them to this victory. Grace went 2-2 with 3 RBI and 3 runs scored. In the bottom of the 1st inning with 2 outs and bases loaded Christian hit an inside the park home run to bat Freshmen Emma Wilson and Lara Edeker in for the score. Her bat was hot because at the bottom of the 5th with 2 outs she also hit a triple to left center. She was later batted in by Sophomore Hailey Roloff to score for the Oaks. Grace Christian showed her vet experience today to pull off the win. 

Ayanna Rubio Owns the Circle

Rubio took control in the circle pitching 4 innings in Game 1. She only produced 2 hits on the day and only walked 2 batters. Ayanna struck out 7 batters and only faced 13 the whole game. Rubio has 14 strikeouts on the season in 11.2 innings pitched averaging 8.4 strikeouts per game. 

Game 2: Menlo 2 - 10 #13 College of Idaho

Grace Christian Continues to Dominate

Christian showed up to play today in Game 2 again going 1-2 with 2 RBI. In the 1st inning Grace rallied with 2 outs and tripled down the left field line to bat Emma Wilson and Bella Cortez in for the Oaks. 

Roloff Hitting Her Stride

Another Menlo batter showing poise at the plate is sophomore left-fielder Hailey Roloff, who went 2-for-3 against College of Idaho. Among Oaks with at least 10 at-bats so far this season, Roloff has the second-best batting average. Her mark of .364 trails only the aforementioned Grace Christian, who is currently hitting .500.

The Oaks are back on the field tomorrow morning, Saturday February 11 for another doubleheader showdown between Corban at 10am for Game 1 and against #13 College of Idaho at 2pm for Game 2!
