SAN DIMAS, CA – Menlo Women's Volleyball outperformed the Life Pacific Warriors on the road to win 3-1. The Oaks stand #2 in the conference with a record of 9-4 in the GSAC, just behind undefeated Vanguard. Amery Rainaud-Hinds leads in the NAIA at #4 in the nation with 6.25 digs per set! The final regular season match will take place on Saturday against The Master's University.
Long Rallies Lead to Long Sets
The second place standing in the GSAC was up for grabs between Menlo and Life Pacific in this match. The first set clearly showed both teams' willingness to fight hard to win. The entire first set was a side-out battle going back and forth. It became tied 32-32 when Ayanna Barham landed back-to-back kills to win the first set for the Oaks, 34-32. Menlo set the tone early in the second set with a 9-point run to make it from tied 6-6 to 14-7. That would give the Oaks a large enough lead to win the second set, 25-18. Life Pacific came back in the third set but not without long rallies from Menlo. The score fell in favor of the Warriors 20-25 in the third. The Oaks were ready to end this match in four sets after a 5-point run would give them a 12-7 lead. Beatrice Manzon set Gabriella MAcKenzie for the final kill of the night to take the fourth set, 25-21. The 3-1 victory secures the 2nd place spot in the Conference Standings going into the GSAC Championship tournament just one week away!
Mumm Leads Way to Oaks Victory
Tonight's points leader was junior Outside hitter, Katharine Mumm, who was able to land 16 kills on the offensive side and add 5 total blocks on defense. Ayanna Barham led the team in kills with 17 and also had 6 digs. The offense was orchestrated by the two setters, Beatrice Manzon with 31 assists and Paige Harmann with 25 assists. Paige Harmann currently sits at #5 in conference with 491 total assists and 5.11 assists per set. Amey Rainaud-Hinds added another 25 digs to her season total of 575. Rainaud sits very high in the Conference leaderboards at #1 with the next best person being 100+ digs behind Amey. She helped keep the Oaks alive during the long winded rallies from the Warriors. Shawna Thompson was a brick wall in the middle totaling 6 blocks, 3 being solo blocks. Menlo hit well as a team with a .239 hitting percentage and landing 64 as a team. The Oaks performance has begun early momentum going into GSAC post season play!

The final regular season match will happen in Santa Clarita, CA to face off The Master's University on Saturday, October 28 at 2pm. Menlo has secured the #2 standing in the GSAC and will be traveling right back to Life Pacific's gym to compete for the Championship title.
