Football Places Three on Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete List

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced last Thursday that 319 football student-athletes have been named 2014 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes. Taylor (Ind.) led all institutions with 14 individuals on the list.

Menlo College Football placed three players on the list in 2014. Senior running back Jake Fohn, senior defensive lineman Luamata Tagaloa and junior wide receiver Josh Szin were all honored for their remarkable work in the classroom and on the field. Fohn and Szin earned this award for the first time while Luamata Tagaloa earned it for the second consecutive season.

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.
