Liz Leahy

Liz Leahy, a dedicated Sports Performance Coach with certifications as a CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) and USAW-L1 (USA Weightlifting Level 1), hails from San Jose, CA. Graduating in 2018 from UCSB with a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Liz furthered her education by completing a Masters's in Sport and Exercise Science at the University of Essex in 2020.

Since January 2021, Liz has been an integral part of the Menlo College Sports Performance team, starting as an intern and quickly progressing to her current role. Her passion for Sports Performance was ignited during her time playing club volleyball, where she learned valuable lessons from her strength and conditioning coach at UCSB. Motivated by her desire to improve her own performance, Liz discovered the transformative power of the weight room in enhancing strength, speed, and vertical jump.

With a competitive spirit ingrained from her early days as a sand volleyball player at the age of 15, Liz expanded her athletic pursuits by delving into Olympic weightlifting in 2020. Presently, she actively competes and coaches in this discipline, aspiring to qualify for Nationals.

Within the Menlo College Sports Performance department, Liz primarily works with Women's Volleyball, Men's Volleyball, and Softball teams. Her primary objective for athletes is to not only enhance their performance during their college years but also equip them with the skills and knowledge to excel beyond their collegiate careers.
