Menlo College

Stephen joins the Menlo Oaks this season and brings with him a great deal of exeperience. He is currently head coach of the San Jose Earthquakes U16 Academy team and recently spent three years with the Houston Dynamo as a player.

Stephen is the brother of current Quakes standout Chris Wondolowski. The duo played with the Dynamo from 2007 to 2009. Stephen originally signed a developmental contract in 2007 after graduating from UC Santa Cruz.

A four-year starter for the Banana Slugs, Stephen helped lead UC Santa Cruz to four consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, including a trip to the 2004 finals against Messiah College.

Stephen earned NCAA Division III Final Four All-Tournament Team honors as a sophomore and was selected to the NCAA D-III All-Independent Team three straight times from 2004 to 2006.

Four games into his senior season, Stephen moved to forward and responded with 17 goals the rest of the year. He was rewarded with the D-III All-Independent Offensive Player of the Year award.
