Eric Bucchere

Eric Bucchere enters his first season as head coach of the Men’s Soccer team in 2013. Bucchere takes over the reigns at Menlo following five seasons as head assistant coach at NCAA DII UC San Diego. As a member of the Triton coaching staff from 2008 to 2012, Bucchere assisted with recruiting, travel, youth camps, and off-season training in addition to his on-field coaching duties. Concurrent to his duties at UC San Diego, Bucchere kept busy as a head coach of the San Diego Surf Soccer Club where he worked with U16/U18 teams and also served as the team’s college Program Director. 

 Bucchere also has familiarity with the Bay Area having spent two seasons as the head assistant coach for his alma mater, UC Santa Cruz. During his two-year tenure, the Banana Slugs put together a 36-7 overall record and made a trip to the round of 16 in the NCAA tournament.

During his playing days at UC Santa Cruz from 2001-2004, Bucchere helped the team to a 69-12-3 record and was a four-year letter winner. The team qualified for the NCAA tournament three of the four years, including a trip to the NCAA DIII National Championship in his senior season. He played semi-professionally for 3 seasons as a member of the Santa Cruz County Breakers of the NPSL.

A 2005 graduate of UC Santa Cruz, Bucchere received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Literature.
