Brandon Walker

  • Title
    Assistant Coach

Brandon Walker enters his first season as assistant basketball coach of the Oaks with a whole host of coaching and playing experience under his belt.  As a coach, the native of Hayward, CA has spent the past seven years working at the Triple Threat Basketball Academy and the past six summers at the Bishop O'Dowd High School Basketball Camp.  While at both, Walker served as a Group Mentor/Leader and was responsible for training and developing the basketball skills and mental approach for players from the elementary through high school level.

As a player, Walker experienced a career as good as any.  He contributed in over 20 games in the 2007-08 season for NCAA Division I Loyola Marymount before making his mark at NCAA Division II University of Alaska Anchorage for his final three years.  Walker finished eighth all time on the UAA scoring list and was the only non-four year player in the school's history to accumulate over 1,200 points and 450 rebounds.  He was also the only male athlete in the history of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference to receive back-to-back Sportsmanship Player of the Year awards.

Walker graduated from the University of Alaska Anchorage last spring with a Bachelors Degree in Sociology and then went on to play professionally in the German Pro B League before he was forced into an early retirement due to a spinal injury.
