Menlo College

Alec Kobre joined Coach Rooney’s staff as an Assistant Coach in July of 2020, bringing with him a wealth of coaching and playing experience. Kobre comes to Menlo after spending a season as a Graduate Assistant at University of Arkansas where he worked under head coach Eric Musselman. Concurrent to his coach duties at Arkansa, Kobre completed his Master’s in Athletic Administration and Coaching from Concordia University, Irvine in December of 2020. He earned his Bachelor’s of Education from University of Pacific in May, 2016.

His playing career saw him play a pair of seasons at Santa Rosa Junior College where he was named an All-State guard, the MVP of the State Championship and led his team to the Big 8. He averaged 15.4 ppg and was second in the state with 113 three pointers made. From there he finished his collegiate career at Pacific where he was an All-WCC guard as a senior and led the team in scoring that season. He was the only player in school history to shoot 50/40/90.

Kobre’s success at Pacific led him to a professional career in Israel (2017-18) and Spain (2016) 

Kobre is a native of Santa Rosa, Calif.
