Born and raised in the Bay Area, Nicholas Healey attended Archbishop Riordan High School in San Francisco. He then enrolled at Skyline College, where he played baseball. In that time, the team went to the playoffs twice, and in his last year, Healey was named a team captain.Â
After graduating from Skyline with an Associate of Arts degree, he received a baseball scholarship from Corban University in Salem, Oregon, which he attended for 2 years. In his time at Corban, he batted .313, had a 1.000 fielding percentage, and in his senior year was named an outfield captain. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in marketing, and then also earned a master’s degree in business administration from Corban.Â
After graduating in 2020 during the Covid pandemic, Healey began work as a project manager. He worked around the Bay Area, and was also active within baseball organizations as a coach, hitting and outfield instructor, and baseball camp counselor.Â
After a few years of not being around baseball enough, he returned to Skyline College as an outfield coach. Following a successful spell at Skyline, he had the opportunity to join the Oaks as an assistant baseball coach and an admissions counselor for San Francisco and San Mateo counties. On the diamond, he coaches outfielders, is a hitting instructor, and serves as the first base coach.
