ATHERTON, Calif. – Four years removed from his time competing for Menlo Men's Basketball, Trey Stevens now prepares to help guide the Oaks from a new angle ahead of the 2026-27 season. Brought onto the coaching staff as a graduate assistant, Stevens welcomes the leadership opportunity after having captained his teams at every level from high school to junior college to university.

"Trey will be a great addition to our staff," said Head Coach Jamison Montgomery. "He has basketball experience playing at the four-year level and also started his college career here at Menlo. I am excited to bring him back and for him to help our program continue to grow."

Stevens, a member of the Menlo men's basketball team from 2020-22, graduated with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Dickinson State. Over the course of his collegiate career, he scored 1,085 points (including 180 3-pointers), grabbed 324 rebounds, and dished out 239 assists all while supporting a 2.6 assist-to-turnover ratio.

A team captain at Spokane Community College in 2022-23 and with Dickinson State in 2023-25, Stevens finished with two North Star Second Team honors and was a three-time North Star Player of the Week en route to North Star Conference Regular Season and Tournament Championships both in 2025.

Having fostered a winning culture with multiple programs, Stevens brings his ability to elevate those around him as he now shifts to the sidelines with Menlo.
