ROCKLIN, CA – Menlo College Men's Soccer delivered a dominant performance on Thursday morning, earning a convincing 3-0 victory over Jessup University in Rocklin. The Oaks came out with attacking intent from the opening whistle, finding the back of the net three times while holding Jessup scoreless for the full 90 minutes. Three different Oaks found the scoresheet as Menlo controlled the momentum and secured its first shutout of the season.

Oaks Bring the Heat in Rocklin
Menlo wasted little time establishing itself offensively. After creating several early chances, the Oaks earned a corner in the 10th minute before finding the breakthrough just moments later. Hugo Few carried possession down the right side toward the endline while several Oaks made runs into the box. Few delivered a perfectly timed ball into the six-yard box, where Davis Boogman was waiting to finish the chance and give Menlo a 1-0 lead. The goal came after Menlo had already registered several shots in the opening minutes, setting the tone for an aggressive attacking performance.
The Oaks continued to apply pressure after halftime and doubled their advantage in the 55th minute. Menlo capitalized on a Jessup possession mistake in the defensive third, quickly turning the turnover into a dangerous attack. Few slipped a through ball into the 18-yard box for Tim Schwarz, who calmly finished with his left foot to extend the lead to 2-0. Schwarz also forced a save from the Jessup goalkeeper earlier in the half as Menlo continued to create opportunities.
Menlo added its third and final goal in the 71st minute following another impressive build-up. Charlie Galvin helped initiate the attack before Marcos Garcia beat his defender and sent the ball across the goal mouth to Enrico Ehret, who finished the chance. The Oaks continued to pressure Jessup through the final whistle, with Menlo adding multiple corner kicks and additional shots late in the match. At the other end, Vebjørn Madshus stood strong in goal, making four saves to preserve the shutout.

The Oaks return home to Wunderlich Field on Tuesday, September 15, when Menlo will face the Sharks of Hawaii Pacific University. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 pm, as Menlo looks to build on its strong start with another home victory.
