Carmen Cruz & Lucy LarsonATHERTON, CA – Competing alongside one another from elementary school through high school, junior guards Carmen Cruz and Lucy Larson will soon find themselves both in the Menlo Women's Basketball navy blue and white, reuniting this fall as the newest members of the Oaks' 2026-27 roster.

A transfer from University of Puget Sound and native of Seattle, Cruz demonstrated her dynamic scoring ability as the Loggers' leader in points per game as both a freshman (9.7) and a sophomore (12.8). She broke the program record for most 3-pointers made in a game (9) in just her sixth appearance for Puget Sound and, after averaging 11.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 1.1 steals per contest in her career, went on to be named All-Northwest Conference First Team the following year. Prior to Puget Sound, Cruz spent four years on the varsity basketball team with Larson at West Seattle High School, averaging 12.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.1 steals, and 1.7 assists per game. Cruz was also a two-year varsity letter winner in softball at West Seattle, hitting .433 with 40 runs batted in and 40 runs scored in her 37 games played.

Larson transfers to Menlo from Seattle University where she saw action in 48 games over two seasons, highlighted by a 13-rebound, six-assist effort this past year. A four-year varsity letter winner in basketball in tandem with Cruz at West Seattle High School, Larson averaged 6.9 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.3 steals per game while helping the Wildcats post three consecutive winning records in her time there.

When the duo arrive on campus later this year, Cruz will be studying Real Estate and Larson will be studying Psychology.
